What is expected?


Take a look at our checklist below. If you can answer 'yes' to all of the statements below, then we would love to hear from you:




  • Do you have a minimum of 15 hours per week to dedicate to your advisor business?


  • Do you have a full driving licence and your own reliable car?


  • Do you either own or rent your own house?


  • Have you got a home PC with internet connection and a mobile phone?


  • Are you experienced with and do you enjoy basic DIY - do you have the ability and confidence to install blinds in a customer's home?


  • Do you have a clean credit history with no County Court Judgements (CCJs) or other adverse credit history?


  • Have you got somewhere secure where you could store customers' orders before they are fitted?


  • Are you fit and healthy enough to measure and fit blinds? (There is some physical work, sometimes requiring climbing step ladders.)


  • Are you willing to invest in the advisor tools payment of £2,000 to include essential IT equipment, sales/measuring tools and branded clothing? This can be paid for either in full or by using the deferred payment scheme offered by the company.


  • Are you willing to attend a five-day residential induction and a two-day follow-up course in either Nottingham or Washington?


  • Do you have enough capital or another income to support yourself until your first commission payments come through - usually around a month?

We only select people we believe will be successful and only in areas where we believe the market is strong enough to support an Advisor’s business. We never cram Advisors into an area and wait to see who is successful.
Hillarys' investment in your business will be considerable. We spend more on advertising than any other blinds company in the UK to ensure that we generate enough leads for you. We have the most sophisticated IT support in our industry and have the largest blinds factories in Europe. We constantly review and update our product ranges to ensure we are always offering our customers the best choice and quality. Our quality standards are amongst the best in the world – we know this because our global wide suppliers tell us so.


Every Advisor is expected to attend our award-winning seven-day course - five days initially, then a two-day follow up 6-8 weeks later - and you will be offered subsequent training opportunities, designed to increase your earnings potential. There are also regular regional and local team meetings that you will be encouraged to attend, where you can learn about new products or promotions or get up to date with the latest news. You will have the support of one of our experienced Field Sales Managers, dedicated to ensuring your business is a thriving one. You will also have the support of several departments at head office to help everything run smoothly.
